Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo have been revealed to have been forced out from the SBS variety show, “Running Man.”

Previously, the two stars were reported to be leaving the show to focus on their solo careers. However, their agencies revealed that they were forced out from the show.

According to reports, “Two weeks before, there were talks of a format change. A producer visited the filming set and announced it again. There were no talks of member changes at that time. They had a meeting on December 12 with Kim Jong Kook and told him that he was off from the show. Song Ji Hyo only found out about her removal after the news made headlines. Everyone did not know a change would happen as the ratings were declining. This type of parting not only hurts the producers but the stars as well.”

Kim Jong Kook’s management label, Maroo Entertainment, also stated, “It is true that he was leaving with no decision about the matter. It is disappointing. He appeared on the show despite his health issues since he cared about it very much.”

To this matter, Song Ji Hyo’s management label, MY Company, revealed, “We knew that the show would undergo format changes from SBS. However, it is true that we found out from news reports which members would not return. We would not comment on Song Ji Hyo’s feelings on the matter.”
