Actor Song Joong Ki talks about his acting on a melodrama and his flower boy image.
With regards to making slightly cheesy lines in a melodrama, he says, “I do not have anything that I would a call a secret. But, no matter what, my usual self is always going to come out on screen. I also think to myself, ‘When you are acting in a melodrama, do not make it seem too cringeworthy.’”
Song Joong Ki also reveals, “For the most basic level, I stay loyal to the script. I try to put myself in the shoes of the writer and think about the reason why they wrote those lines or those scenes. What about the scene prior? What about the following scenes in the next episode? I always think about that.”
With regards to his image as a ‘flower boy’ or ‘pretty boy,’ he reveals, “I have no plan of trying to get rid of ‘flower boy’ image. I believe that an actor’s appearance is very important.”
Song Joong Ki also adds with a laugh, “I take good care of my skin. I also do my best to prevent signs of aging.”
Aside from the recently ended popular KBS2 drama “Descendants of the Sun,” Song Joong Ki is known for his roles on the dramas “The Innocent Man,” “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” and “Will It Snow for Christmas?”
