Network SBS reveals the reason why they edited out I.O.I on Dream Concert Broadcast.

On the recent TV broadcast of SBS MTV’s “2016 Dream Concert,” viewers criticize SBS for editing I.O.I out from the broadcast. Moreover, some fans also claim that I.O.I was the only group to have their group name omitted when the groups were introduced at the start of the concert.

Viewers criticize SBS for allegedly discriminating I.O.I since it was formed through the cable network channel Mnet during its survival show “Produce 101.” Many fans have also expressed their disappointment at I.O.I being edited out from the broadcast most especially since it was the group’s last promotional stage for “Dream Girls” and their last promotion as a whole group before their promote with their sub-units.

In response to the controversy, SBS releases an official statement saying, “The reason as to why I.O.I have been edited out from the Dream Concert was because of the length of the broadcast. Other performers were also edited out as well. There was no malicious intent.”

SBS also adds, “All performances were aired on SBS Plus. However, on the main SBS channel, a part of the performances were inevitably cut out due to the TV programming schedule.”

Meanwhile, the “2016 Dream Concert” was held on June 4 at the World Cup Stadium in Seoul. It was then aired on television on June 11 through the SBS channel. Some of the performers include EXO, Red Velvet, T-ARA, B1A4, SEVENTEEN, Oh My Girl, MAMAMOO, VIXX and more.
