Oh My Girl member Jine reveals that she was diagnosed with anorexia due to excessive dieting.

On an interview with TV Report for their comeback with “Closer,” the rookie girl group answered in unison that the hardest part of their comeback was ‘the dieting.’

Female idols are known to be extra sensitive when it comes to their weight changes.

Jine also reveals, “I tend to gain weight easily and from the photos from our last promotion, it made me think that I need to lose more weight.” She further explains that since the concept of “Closer” requires her to look dreamy and mystical, she needed to lose weight. Jine also reveals that she succeeded in losing 9kg in two months.

She says, “I wanted to be as pretty as possible for ‘Closer’ so sometimes I starved and only ate protein and I exercised a lot.”

However, Jine’s sudden weight loss has resulted in an inflammation on her esophagus and anorexia.

Her management company was then alerted regarding her diagnosis, thus they stopped her diet and made her have a healthy meal plan. Jine’s esophagus has fully recovered however she is currently being treated for anorexia by having a healthy weight through healthy meals and exercises.

Jine then reassures her fans by saying, “I will be bright and happy on stage since I have learned that if I get sick, I worry more people than I had thought, From now I will take better care of my body instead of excessive dieting.”
