Super Junior Kangin has been revealed to be under investigation for DUI (driving under the influence) accident.
According to reports, Kangin’s Mercedes-Benz collided with a streetlight pole in front of a convenience store around 2 am KST at Sinsa-dong, Seoul. Following the crash, Kangin appears to have left the scene of the accident.
After a few hours, the Super Junior member then turned himself to the police, and he was questioned about the accident. Kangin then confesses, “I remember that I hit something. However, I did not know that it was a street light pole.”
Police investigations also reveal that Kangin’s blood alcohol content was around 0.05% which is enough for him to get his driver’s license revoked.
With regards to the issue, SM Entertainment reveals, “It is true that Kanging had a DUI accident. Kangin contacted the police with regards to the accident and had received an investigation at an arranged time. He is deeply regretful of his actions and will be ceasing all of his entertainment-related activities for him to take some time to self-reflect. Once again, we sincerely apologize for worrying all of you.”
Meanwhile, the police are still investigating the said case.
Back in 2009, he also had a DUI hit-and-run case where he collided into a parked taxi and left the scene. Following the accident, Kangin took a break from all of his activities and enlisted for his mandatory military service.
