GOT7 member Jackson revealed to have suffered an injury while shooting for KBS sports variety show, “Let’s Go! Dream Team.”
According to a broadcast insider, the GOT7 member had injured his ankle while filming for the September 19 shooting of the sports program. Jackson was then transported to the hospital in order to receive treatment.
The idol’s management agency JYP Entertainment also confirmed his ankle injury by releasing an official statement saying, “Jackson has sprained his ankle. He would have to wear a cast for a week.”
Following Jackson’s ankle injury, it is said that he would not be able to participate in the “Hallyu Dream Concert” which would take place on September 20. However, it is said that he would be appearing as one of the MCs for the SBS music show “Inkigayo” as usual since he would be able to stand normally by then.
Jackson, along with the six other members of GOT7 debuted in January 2014 with the single “Girls Girls Girls” through the Mnet music show “M! Countdown.” That year, they won the Best New Artist Group at the Seoul Music Awards and had three nominations for the 29th Golden Disk Awards in which they won the China Goodwill Star Award as well as the Newcomer Award.
Meanwhile, GOT7 is set to make their comeback with a new album “MAD” which would be released on September 29. They would also be releasing their third Japanese single “Laugh Laugh Laugh” together with its B-side “BE MY GIRL” on September 23.
