Actor Gong Yoo opens up about how Kim Ji Woon influenced his thoughts about marriage.
On a recent interview, it was revealed that the actor and director worked together on the film, “The Age of Shadows.”
Gong Yoo then reveals his thoughts about marriage, saying, “I am now in my late 30’s, and I have thought a lot about marriage and family. Honestly, I have decided to push aside thoughts of marriage and personal questions for now. Right now is a really important time for me and how I will spend it will determine how I spend my life after my 40’s.”
He adds, “I was influenced a lot by director Kim Ji Woon while we were working together. He asked me how much time I though a person should enjoy life on their own. He also said that in Korea, a person depends on their parents until they are in their 30’s which is why we only have time from our 30’s to our 60’s to fully enjoy ourselves.”
“Back then, I thought that a person needed a partner to avoid being lonely and to be taken care of when you are old and sick,” Gong Yoo shares.
Meanwhile, the actor is currently gaining fame for his recent blockbuster film, “Train to Busan,” which has already passed ten million admissions at the box office. He would then be making his return to the small screen with the fantasy romance drama “Goblin” which also stars Lee Dong Wook and Kim Go Eun.
