Fierce female rappers Cheetah and Jessi appears on “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook” and talks about their pre-debut stories.
Cheetah and Jessi have gained attention after their appearance on Mnet’s female hip hop competition, “Unpretty Rapstar”, with Cheetah winning the crown and Jessi being a runner-up.
Cheetah had actually debuted and promoted as a member of a girl hip hop duo Black List in 2010 as well as another group Masterpiece along with rapper Crush in 2012. However, her groups disbanded shortly afterwards.
MC Yoo Hee Yeol then asked Cheetah as to why her groups did not do well, she then responds, “I think our group names explained it,” and laughed.
She also reveals that she was supposed to be a vocalist, however, an accident had happened.
“I moved to Seoul when I was 17 in order to do music, but I got into an accident. I underwent brain surgery and my throat was badly damaged that I was not able to sing anymore,” Cheetah reveals.
Despite the accident, the female rapper still remained optimistic and shared that the accident was an important turning point in her life.
