Solo artist DinDin reveals the reason why he rejected an offer to appear on the SBS variety show “Running Man.”
In an interview with media outlet Sports Daily, DinDin reveals, “After rejecting ‘Running Man,’ I was very upset that I had to go out for a drink.”
He further explains, “Back then, I had a radio appearance scheduled with Park Myung Soo hyung and Jo Sung Mo hyung. I could have postponed it. However, I did not think that it would be right to cancel when I already promised to go. That will be sketchy. Of course, ‘Running Man’ is such an awesome show. However, it would be wrong to cancel another program for it.”
DinDin also shares, “‘Running Man’ might have been offended. However, I already made a promise before the offer. Also, if they would really need me, they would call me again later.”
“I drank until the morning. Then, I got a call from Jo Se Ho hyung and he gave the phone to somebody else. It turned out to be Yoo Jae Suk hyung. He told me that I did a great job at ‘Happy Together’ and asked if I received a call from a different program, so I explained to him why I had to reject ‘Running Man,’” explains DinDin.
He also says, “Yoo Jae Suk told me, ‘It is okay, DinDin. Don’t try to chase what is right in your sight. The reason that it turned out like this is because it wasn’t yours in the first place.’ In this world, you could not just chase the benefits in front of you. You would not be able to last long. Stay righteous. You are doing well now and major shows like ‘Running Man’ will come again.’”
