MBC’s “Music Core” revealed to be changing their current ranking system as well as its hosts beginning November 21.
The MBC variety department has revealed, “The truth is that the present system of revealing live rankings based on various music charts has lost its meaning and importance to the broadcasters.”
They further reveal, “Instead of the ranking system, we plan to show more diverse genres of music and would continue to work hard to be a representative music show of Korea.”
Previously, the ranking system of “Music Core” was eliminated in 2006 but returned in 2013. For seven years, the music show did not give out awards just like what the other music programs do.
Moreover, the show reveals that they would be having new hosts for the show. MCs SHINee’s Minho, VIXX’s N and Red Velvet’s Yeri have said their goodbyes through the November 14 broadcast of the show.
MBC reveals that actors Kim Min Jae and Kim Sae Ron would become the new MCs for the show starting on November 21.
Meanwhile, IU’s “Twenty Three” became the last winner on the show with f(x)’s “4 Walls” taking the second place and Taeyeon’s “I” taking the third place.
