Fly to the Sky's new album, entitled "Promise" will be released
next month on the 3rd.
Yoo Seung
Jun in the Hospital(1/24/01)
Top dance singer, Yoo Seung Jun is hospitalized for back pains. His doctor
says he needs treatment and rest for three months, so it is not clear if
he will be able to return to stage.
It's said that he had been suffering for back pains for the past
year.
He fell off a stage while filming a music video and felt strong
pains in his back. Later, he fell down at home while taking a shower and
was taken to a hospital. He had to cancel all of his TV and radio programs.
On the 23rd however, both Yoo Seung Jun and Jo Sung Mo have checked out of
the hospital because they weren't able to get the rest they need because
the fans' visits (Jo Sung Mo had injured his leg earlier this month while
snowboarding).
Jo Sung Mo
with the most album sales(1/21/01)
Recent
figures show that Jo Sung Mo sold 5.6 million albums in two years, ranking
top in album sales in Korea. He
released 3 albums over the past two years. More specifically, he ranked
first, second and third in album sales for 2000. The fourth and fifth
places were taken by G.O.D. and Soe Tae-ji who sold 1.5 million and 1.1
million copies, respectively. Musicians who sold more than half a million
copies include H.O.T., S.E.S., Cool, Lim Chang Jung and Lee Jung Hyun.
Seo Tai
Ji's Farewell Concert(1/21/01)
Seo Tai Ji will hold farewell concerts at the Seoul Olympic Gymnastic
Stadium on February 3rd and 4th. The concerts were scheduled at the last
minute for fans who have been thirsty for Seo's live concerts. He decided
to meet the requests of his fans before he goes back to the United States
in mid-February to resume his music study and production.
Fin.K.L.'s
Remake album & Goodbye(1/13/01)
Finkl will be remaking an album for their fans. On the 28th, Finkl will be
taking a break and will be having their goodbye stage on SBS Inki Gayo
that day. The group will be coming back out with their remade album in
March.
Boa to
Japan(1/13/01)
After stopping her performances this week in Korea, Boa will be going to Japan
on the 18th. She will be making a special album through the Japan
recording company, Avex. Boa also will be going to New York and London to
work with the best staff there to work on her new album. After working on
her special album for a month or two, she will start her performances and
stuff in April.

Her special album will be available in March in Japan.
Shin Hwa's
Concert(1/13/01)
From the 15th to the 16th, Shin Hwa will be having their first concert at
the Seoul Gymnastic Stadium. After performing "Gee Do," which Dong
Wan wrote, Shin Hwa has been very excited about this concert.
H.O.T.
Concert Delay(1/13/01)
H.O.T.'s Concert will be delayed due to an ankle injury that Jae Won has
suffered which will need about 6 weeks to completely heal.
Girl
Injured While Following Click-B(1/8/01)
This week on January 5th, a girl (Kim Bora, a fan of Click-B) has been
hospitalized after being trampled by other girls. The girl and 5 of her
friends went to Click-B's office, because they heard they were doing some
kind of chat with their fans. after Click-B came out, the fans were
running after them and then the girl fell trying to catch up with Click-B.
The other girls losing their senses didn't realize this girl was on the
floor, so the other fans were kicking and stepping on her. This 15 years
old girl is currently hospitalized. Click B
will be making a song dedicated to Kim Bora and will be changing their
album concept to one that reflects this incident.
H.O.T.'s
Concert and Ticket Sales(1/8/01)
On the 18th to the 21st, H.O.T. will be having their "comeback"
concert, even after Kangta's drunk driving incident. They will be having
their concert at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. H.O.T.'s tickets sold out
after 10 minutes. It is estimated that 36,000 tickets were sold during
that time.
S.E.S.'s
Comeback(1/8/01)
On the 14th, S.E.S. will be making their comeback through SBS Inki Gayo. Also,
S.E.S. will be doing the next guerilla concert.
Jekkie's
kangsunghoon's comeback(1/6/01)
At the latest~ next year in march, kangsunghoon will be making a solo
comeback. he made a 3uk won contract with waner music korea(ÆÌ±»¤ÉÁ
ÏT¹¬ÅD)
for 2 albums. kangsunghoon said "i'll be showing that is my style. it
wont be the music i did before." his concept is rock beat, but a
ballad. there will be dance songs and he aims a luxurious feeling.

getting kicked out of their home(1/1/01)
Because of hot fans in Korea, H.O.T. might be getting kicked out of their
home in the Samsung apartments. their fans would come visit the apartment
for no reasons and just cause disturbing noises. The neighbors are
complaining constantly that they cant live like humans. There are fans in
the stair cases and the alleys waiting for a glimpse of hot. there were
even girls with blankets sleeping over for the night. on Christmas Eve,
there were about 1000 girls for the guys. Whenever a guy passed by, the
girls would scream "oppa," thinking it was H.O.T.. Neighbors
call in many times complaining. the same situation goes for the group Shin
Hwa.
Singer of
the Year: And the Award Goes to! (1/1/01)
Jo Sung Mo took singer of the year for both SBS's and MBC's music shows
for year for year 2000, with his title song Ashinayo. For KBS
however, the award went out to G.O.D., a slight disappointment for Jo Sung
Mo, but a well deserved winner anyhow. Both G.O.D. and Jo Sung Mo
were quite emotional when receiving the awards.
Korean
representing Guinness records (1/1/01)
For the year of 2001, Jo Sung Mo and Seo Tai Ji will be in the records.
Jo Sung Mo will be in for selling the most cds. from his 1st album to his
3rd (including 2.5 classic). His total sales was 7,200,000.
Seo Tai Ji is in it for being the most paid for a commercial. he received
15uk won with his contract.
