The BIGBANG special episode in KBS variety program ‘Happy Together 3’ has been revealed to have the lowest ratings in the show’s history.

On the recent broadcast of ‘Happy Together 3’, the five members of YG Entertainment’s boy group BIGBANG appeared as special guests for the show.

Despite BIGBANG’s popularity, the show had recorded its lowest ratings in the 16 years that the show has been airing.

According to Nielsen Korea’s report, the May 21 episode of the show had 4.6% viewer rating while the previous May 14 episode had a 5% rating. The previous lowest rating recorded by the show was the April 30 episode with 4.7%, this means that the BIGBANG episode has the shows lowest viewer rating in all the three seasons of ‘Happy Together’.

A broadcast representative revealed through Newsen, “BIGBANG’s special guesting in ‘Happy Together 3’ might have been a wrong move. The ratings have revealed that the show is getting pushed over by SBS show ‘Jagiya’.”

‘Jagiya’ had recorded a 6.7% viewer rating in their May 21 episode.

The staffs of the show have expected high ratings most specially since it has been the first time that all the five members of BIGBANG had appeared as guests in a KBS variety show, and they made the episode extra special by airing it for 30 more minutes. The episode was aired for 100 minutes than the usual 60 minutes.
