Moon Hee-jun joins military Posted November 23, 2005 by kpopmusic

Singer Moon Hee-jun, who joined the military Nov. 21, held a fan meeting around noon that day just before entering boot camp in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province. At the meeting, he expressed his thoughts about life in the military.

"I am worried that I will miss my fans and my mother, who is alone now, and whether I will be able to adapt well to the music environment after I finish my service,” said a composed Moon.

"[Singer Hong] Kyung-min told me that national defense doesn’t wait and that my absence from the music world won’t be that long. I will return in two years with good songs," added Moon.

The singer also expressed regret that he had been unable to perform much onstage after the release of his latest album, which he had prepared with much effort, and said he would like to appear on variety shows more often after his comeback to show a more interesting side of his personality.

More than 1,500 fans from Moon’s fan club “Junist” came from across the country on 32 express buses to say good-bye to their favorite singer.

The club’s chairwoman, Kim Ji-yun, told Moon not to worry and take care during his service, and promised that his fans will always be there for him, like they were when the singer endured a difficult time due to malicious rumors about him that appeared on the Internet.

Moon, who arrived at the camp in a white van along with his mother, younger sister and manager, held the fan meeting for about 40 minutes in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant.

Police and security guards were dispatched to the site for fear of any possible safety accidents, but no incidents occurred thanks to the fan club’s good organization of the event and well-kept order.

Moon will receive five weeks of boot training in the camp and begin his two-year military service on Dec. 30.

Since his debut in 1996 as a member of the music group H.O.T., Moon made a debut as a solo artist in 2001 and released his fourth album last September, entitled “Triple X.”

Fly To The Sky advances to U.K. ahead of releasing 6th album Posted November 18, 2005 by boksuwww

The music group Fly To The Sky is set to make inroads into the U.K. market. The group has postponed the release of its sixth album due to a medical condition known as a “singer’s nodule” that group member Hwan Hee was recently diagnosed with.

The group’s advancement to the U.K. was organized in a joint effort with Simon Webbe, a former member of the U.K. pop group The Blue, a top British group that has sold nine million discs in its home country alone. The solo activities of its members have attracted the spotlight after the group was disbanded.

Webbe, who contributed significantly to The Blue’s popularity thanks to his sexy image, selected Fly To The Sky out of a number of artists recommended by EMI shortly after releasing his solo album.

Producer Hwang Se-jun, who supervised Fly To The Sky’s new album, decided to include his new song in the albums of Fly To The Sky and Webbe--who is known as an urban soul singer--as the two sides match each other perfectly in terms of music genre and showed great interest in each other’s music.

Fly To The Sky will travel directly to the U.K. to record the song personally with Webbe. The group’s agency said the two teams will also appear together in the music video for the song and launch its promotion together.

The members of Fly To The Sky also have their hands full preparing for a large-scale concert slated for Dec. 29 at the Jamsil Stadium in Seoul to mark the release of its new album. The group is working hard to stage an impressive performance for its fans to make up for the delay in the album’s release.
