On October 20th, JYP Entertainment released a press released that announced the Wonder Girls‘ return to South Korea with a studio album release in early November. It has been over a year since Wonder Girls had appeared with a new song in their home country. Last year, they released the new song “2 Different Tears” and shortly promoted the song on the televised music shows.
According to the agency, Wonder Girls’ promotion for their new studio album will only last until the end of the month. Afterwards in December, the Wonder Girls will visit several countries in Asia for fan events before heading back to the United States in time to premiere their new TeenNick TV movie, “Wonder Girls at the Apollo” in early 2012.
An official from JYP said, “The members have put in all their energy in perfecting the songs and choreography for the new album, which will show a different side of the girls.”
Meanwhile, the Wonder Girls are currently in South Korea to finish their new upcoming album and it has been reported that they have already concluded the shooting of their new music video as well.
The Wonder Girls will join the inevitable “girl group war” as Brown Eyed Girls, Secret, and Girls’ Generation have recently released their new studio albums. T-ara is also set to release an album in early November alongside the Wonder Girls. With all the returns of the power girl groups and the end-of-the-year award shows being announced, 2011 is sure to end with a giant bang.
