SM Entertainment had finally released an official press statement regarding SNSD's Sooyoung's car accident, which stated that there is a car in the opposite lane had driven over the road's center line and had crashed into Sooyoung's car. Sooyoung has been on her way to complete volunteering services for the visually impaired. Sooyoung was immediately transported to the hospital, and according to the doctor, Sooyoung has a fractured sacrovertebra. The doctor has recommended that Sooyoung must rest until she heals. Girls' Generation are not only preparing for the upcoming 3-day SMTOWN LIVE in TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION, but also their Taiwan concert as part of their Asia tour and working on their 3rd Korean album for their comeback. The accident happened on August 28th at 9AM KST. She was reportedly on her way to complete her volunteering services in Cheonan when another car crashed into her vehicle. This was due to the other driver's careless driving. SM Entertainment has announced that Sooyoung will not be able to participate in the upcoming SMTOWN LIVE in TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION nor the Girls' Generation concert in Taiwan and will be recovering instead. SMTOWN LIVE in TOKYO SPECIAL EDITION will take place at the Tokyo Dome on September 2nd and feature Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), J-Min and more. SMTOWN in New York was also recently confirmed by SM's Isak.
