It was recently reported in late March this year that the SM Entertainment will had postponed their SM Town Live in Tokyo Concert that is originally scheduled to be on the 9th and 10th of April. The concert was postponed because of the tragedy that had happened to Japan where many had suffered, experiencing the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and a tsunami.
SM Town had already visited the country on the 25th and 26th of January this year and one may say that it is beyond successful. They had gained more than 400,000 applicants for the tickets of the January concert. All of the seats were recorded to be sold out with all the SM artists performing in front of only more than 24,000 audiences, very much far to the number of applicants that they have. And because of the high demand of the fans, mostly those who hadn’t have the chance to watch the first one, SM Entertainment had decided to hold an encore concert that scheduled to be done on the 9th and 10th of April, 2011.
The management company had then announced a new date for the SM Town Live in Tokyo that will be now done for the 3rd and 4th of September at the Tokyo Dome. This upcoming September concert is now expected to have over 100, 000 people.
One of the representatives of the company revealed, “‘SM Town Live in Tokyo’ was held on January 25th and 26th at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo and lured 24,000 people, with 400,000 applicants for tickets. We’re expecting the Tokyo Dome concert to receive hotter responses.”
The SM Town Live Concerts have already earned many successes last year in Seoul and LA, and Japan at the beginning of the current year. The SM Family are now also expand themselves in Europe and will be performing for the first ever K-pop concert in Paris, France that will be held on June 10th.
So the only announcement that most of their fans are waiting for, is that if the SM Town will be holding their 2011 world tour concert.
