Last April 2 and 3, JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong has successfully made his debut as a director in their “JYJ’s World Tour Concert” in Bangkok.
Everything was almost done by him, from the lights, sounds and even the positions of the fans in the stadium. He came to Thailand two weeks before the concert to be familiar in the surroundings as well as finalizing the needed preparations.
Kim Junsu, one of his fellow members had early commented and shared his feelings about Jaejoong being a director, “We began calling him ‘Director Kim’. That is how big his role was in the concertâ€.
With a separate interview that Sports Chosun had conducted, the young singer was asked to share his thoughts regarding his debut as a director. Jaejoong replied, “I learned a lot through this experience. Based on the size alone, I am not sure if it is bigger than the concerts we held as rookies, but I did rehearse a lot.â€
And when he was asked how he became a director, “I’ve always had a lot of interest in directing. A lot of different directors have worked for our concerts, but there weren’t a lot that truly knew the feelings of a singer. It was my dream to create a concert that took both the singer and the director’s perspective into one.â€
He was also asked to tell what the most important part of the concert is and he replied, “Over 80% of the concert was prepared directly by the members themselves. We truly tried hard to create a concert that showed who we were through our world tour. It will definitely be a stage where the concentration is put on the songs.â€
In conclusion of his feelings, Jaejoong revealed his doing for the past eight months, “It was very difficult. If before, all we did was put up a spoon on top of an already set up dinner table, we had to create that dinner table this time. But I think that even if it gets more difficult from here on out, I won’t mind at all.â€
Kim Jaejoong is really a hardworking person. From being a singer, an actor, a producer and now a director, surely all his fans around the world are very proud of him.
