The new SBS Wednesday-Thursday drama “Protect the Boss”, starring actors Jisung, Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaejoong, and Wang Jihye, began its debut episode yesterday, showing a unique atmosphere and plotline.
The clear characters of the lead cast members were also revealed, raising anticipation for the story. In particular, the combination of the lead actors Jisung, Choi Kanghee, Kim Jaejoong, Park Younkyu, and Kim Hyungbum was enough to capture viewers’ eyes and attention.
Jisung has taken on the role of the delinquent boss Jihun. He is the son of a chaebol (company conglomerate) family and is director of the C group main headquarters. He is an easy-going and cheerful character who tends to make many careless mistakes while serving his role as director. Nonetheless, many viewers showed a strong liking for the klutzy lead actor’s amiable personality.
Choi Kanghee, who went through many stages to become employed, was also befitting of her title as the queen of romantic company. The first scene in which she entered with mushroom hair and did a round kick showed Eunsul’s strong character. In the first episode, she was very determined to get a job and finally became employed after much hardship.
Kim Jaejoong is challenging himself with the drama scene for the first time, but he showed stable acting and made viewers full of anticipation for his performance.
Park Youngkyu who took on the role of the CEO, Jihun’s father, allowed the viewers to become even more absorbed through his unique and distinguished acting. Kim Hyungbum, Jihun’s secretary, also showed off a crazy presence and pulled his weight fairly. Ahn Naesang, who made a special appearance, also made an impression that could not be forgotten despite the short duration of the appearance.
The viewers who saw the first airing showed largely positive responses: “It’s fun,†“Park Youngkyu is fun, and Jisung is cute too,†and “It’s just too funny.†“Protect the Boss” is expected to see good ratings.
