K-Pop Star contestants Kim Na Yoon and Baek Ah Yeon are featured on the covers of the ELLE Girl magazine. The two talented singers embark on a new stint as they pose for the cameras. The girls were dressed up in summer ensembles featuring pastel colors and bold prints.

The three rookie celebrities were interviewed after the photo shoot. Kim Na Yoon, Baek Ah Yeon and Park Ji Min shared their experiences when they joined the K-Pop Star contest. According to Kim Na Yoon, she was ecstatic when she joined the competition. She was very excited to join other aspiring singers. She was able to experience many things when she entered the contest. She still showed her support even when she got eliminated from the contest. She was very happy because she made it to top 10.

Baek Ah Yeon was given the nickname of Strong Iron Heart by J.Y. Park. She felt motivated and confident after the judge gave her the nickname. She also revealed about what she thinks of Lee Ha Yi and Park Ji Min. She says, the girls were upbeat and energetic. And because of their enthusiasm, she found it hard to rest after a long day’s activities.

Park Ji Min was hailed as the K-Pop Star winner. She shares, she was in total shock when they announced her name as the winner, and she thought it was a joke. Park Ji Min dreams of becoming a comedianne but now she has turned into a great singer.

K-Pop Star is a reality TV competition where three entertainment agencies hold auditions for potential stars. SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment and JYP Entertainment hold auditions in many countries for the contestants. The winner will be given the opportunity to choose which entertainment industry to train with. The winner will also receive cash prize, vehicles, modeling and acting contract. The K-Pop Star judges include YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun-suk, JYP Entertainment founder Park Jin-young and SM Entertainment’s talent BoA. These three agencies are the largest record companies in South Korea.

According to some rumors, YG Entertainment will be contestants from the contest. They will choose five of the former contenders to sign under their agency. The rumor was confirmed when Yang Hyun Suk revealed the plans of YG Entertainment. He disclosed that they will only make final decisions once Park Ji Min decides which agency she chooses. She has the privilege to choose any of the three companies while the other contestants are free to sign up with any of the agencies.

EXO: The Evolution

The new K-pop group EXO is featured in the covers of Vogue Girl and GQ Magazine. Kai, Baehyun and Sehun were some of the members of EXO who were chosen for the photo shoots. The K-pop boys were garbed in the latest Calvin Klein collection for spring/summer 2012. The fashion brand chose EXO to be the model of their new jeans. This is the second-time Calvin Klein, and EXO collaborated for a pictorial. The first time was a magazine spread for High Cut Korea where all members of EXO-K was featured. This time the three most popular members are given the chance to model for Calvin Klein.

The pictorial was captured by world-famous photographer Moke Na Jung. The setting for the photo shoot was summer fun. The boys were having fun surfing along the beach. The boys wore Calvin Klein jeans and some of the brand’s latest shirt collection. They also wore Calvin Klein underwear, accessories and more. Sehun, Kai and Baehyun showcased Calvin Klein’s hottest summer items with gusto and attitude.

It seems like the three boys have been getting a lot of exposures lately. EXO is the new K-pop all male K-pop group under SM Entertainment. EXO is divided into two groups, EXO-K and EXO-M. The new K-pop group is set to lead the music industry in Korea and China. This is a new strategy when it comes to creating K-pop groups. EXO-K and EXO-M promotes the same songs in Korea and China. They also perform both in Korean and Mandarin. SM Entertainment released twenty-three teasers featuring the members of the group.

TaeTiSeo Debuts with Mini-Album

TaeTiSeo makes an explosive debut as they released their mini-album Twinkle. The sub-unit of Girls’ Generation is considered to be one of the best K-pop subgroup. TaeTiSeo is composed of Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun. They are known for their great vocal skills and other talents. The girls recently revealed the reason behind the name of the subgroup. They explained that TaeTiSeo stands for their names, and the order is according to age.

Dream High: K-pop Stars Come Together

Dream High is a Korean drama that showcases the acting schools of various members from different Korean pop groups. The drama portrays the story of talented young individuals aspiring for stardom. Dream High is one of the most successful Korean dramas for 2011.

Dream High stars K-pop singers and actors Suzy (Miss A), Taeyeon (2PM), Wooyoung (2PM), Ham Eun Jung (T-ara), IU and Kim Soo Hyun. Suzy plays the role of Go Hye-mi who came from a wealthy family but fell into indebtedness. Taeyeon plays the role of Hyun Si-hyuk which is the closest friend of Go Hye-mi. His is talented when it comes to dancing and rapping. Kim Soo Hyun plays the role of Song Sam Dong who dreams of being a stock farm owner. He fell in love with Go Hye Mi. Ham Eun Jung plays the role of Yoon Baek-hee who is Go Hye-mi’s best friend. But things turned out bad, and they became rivals. IU plays the role of Kim Pil-suk who is a fat girl with a golden voice. Jang Wooyoung plays the role of an American-Korean student who is good in dancing but struggles in singing.

The story of Dream High starts in Kirin Art School, which is a popular institution of talented Korean stars. The character has different backgrounds and personalities but shares the same goal. They all want to become famous stars. Suzy uses this opportunity, so she can pay her family’s debits. Kim Soo Hyun’s goal is to get Suzy’s attention. Taeyeon wants to prove himself to his father. Ham Eun Jung wants to take revenge to Suzy. Their goals fuel their desires to succeed in Kirin Art School and become famous.

The young dreamers learn to develop and hone their skills. They are immersed in activities like singing, dancing and songwriting. As the drama progresses by, feelings and relationships starts to grow between the characters. Their characters are tested, and they develop their strengths and weaknesses. These young dreamers know no bounds when it comes to succeeding. They do whatever it is just to reach their aspirations.

Because of the great success of Dream High a sequel was made. Dream High 2 is the sequel to the hit drama series. The story focuses on a new set of characters and new plot. The Dream High 2 stars Jin Woon (2AM), Ji-yeon (T-ara), Hyorin (SISTAR), Kang Sora, JB and Park Seo Joon. The sequel aired on January 30 and ended on March 20.

Jay Park Visits Philippines

Jay Park surprised his Filipino fans as he visited the Philippines for a series of performances, mall tours and album signing. He started the event on May 4 in front of his fans at the Eastwood Mall Open Park in Manila. He continued with the tour and performed at the Venice Piazza in Taguig last May 5. He also performed in Lucky Chinatown on May 6.

The mall tours showcased Jay Park’s talent as a singer and song writer. The K-pop star poured out his soul as he performed some of his old and new songs. Fans cheered and danced to beat of his new album called New Breed. Jay Park feels grateful for the support and love of his Filipino fans. He mentions that the Filipino fans showed great interest for his new album. He also thanked them for their hospitality.

The New Breed album includes 15 tracks from hip hop, R&B, dance and more. According to the K-pop star, now that he is on a solo career he has more freedom to experiment with his craft. He is able to channel all his artistic talent through singing and song writing for his album. He now controls what goes into the album and who he collaborates with. In the New Breed album he worked with producer Rob Knox, Dynamic Duo, Cha Cha Malone, Dok2 and other artists. The songs vary from happy to sad tunes which makes the album very versatile. His favorite song from the album are Girlfriend, Know Your Name and I Got Your Back.

The album was released in February and hit the top list on the iTunes chart. The album took the top spot in the iTunes charts in the US, Canada, France and Japan. The album debuted at the 4th spot in the World Albums chart and landed a spot on the Billboard charts.

In another news, the K-pop singer was appointed as the honorary ambassador of the B-boy competition called “R-16 Korea 2012″. The competition was sponsored by the Korea Tourism Organization. Jay Park was chosen by the Korea Tourism Organization because he is a great b-boy dancer who is know a Hallyu star. He suits the role as an ambassador who will promote the b-boy movement.

He also made a headline in the Korean media when his image was featured in an electronic billboard in Times Square. The billboard mentioned that Jay Park will make make an appearance at the Times Square in New York.

Se7en shares about his career. He takes pride in his success as a solo performer and being able to last for 10 years. He also shared his dreams of owning an entertainment company in the coming years. Google Hosts K-pop Concert

The K-pop wave continues to spread around the world. A proof to this is the upcoming private K-pop concert to be hosted by Google. The private concert will be held in their headquarters in California on May 21. Among the K-pop artists expected to perform are Super Junior, Wonder Girls, KARA, SISTAR, TVXQ, MBLAQ, BEAST and more. Each K-pop performance will be shown to the public through the YouTube channel of Google.

This is great news to all the fans because it will give them the chance to take a glimpse on the performances of their favorite K-pop groups. This will be the first time big companies like Google to turn their attention to the K-pop phenomenon. According to a representative, the event will open doors to the K-pop artists. This will be a two-day affair since another K-pop concert will be held prior to May 21. The K-pop groups will be performing in Honda Center on the 20th of May.

If you’re a huge K-pop fan you may have noticed how the Hallyu wave spurred to life. The K-pop phenomenon did not happen instantly. It was a movement that has brought back the life of Korea.
