YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk reveals the details on Lee Hi’s upcoming comeback.

On an interview with media outlet OSEN, the CEO reveals, “When Lee Hi’s comeback was scheduled, Tablo came to me and said, ‘There are not so many female solo artists who work with the hip-hop genre in Korea. I would love to try it at Lee Hi’s upcoming album.’ When they came to me with the finished work, my reaction was ‘Admirable.’”

Yang Hyun Suk also reveals the reason why the album would be split in half for its release by saying, “In order to prolong the time period in which we could promote the great songs on the album. The first half of the album has two title tracks, ‘Hold My Hand’ and ‘Breathe.’ I did not know until we have scheduled the MV filming dates that ‘Breathe’ was composed by SHINee’s Jonghyun.”

When asked why Tablo have not told him that it was written by Jonghyun, the CEO responds, “He might have been worried that I would have been biased if I had known that it was Jonghyun. However, I was pleasantly surprised upon hearing the news. I am happy that Tablo saw Jonhyun’s potential.”

Yang Hyun Suk also reveals that after the half album release on March, the full album with 10 songs would then be out by the next month.

Meanwhile, Lee Hi’s upcoming comeback in March 9 would be her first comeback in 3 years.
