It has been revealed that girl group Wonder Girls would be making a comeback in July with former member Sunmi.
After previously denying the rumors, JYP Entertainment has finally confirmed Wonder Girls’ comeback and reveals more details.
On June 24, JYP Entertainment reveals to media outlet OSEN , “Wonder Girls have recently finished their music video shoot at Gyeongi-do, Namyang-ju today for their new song.”
“Yenny, Yoobin, Hyelim and Sunmi are preparing to make a comeback as a quartet and their comeback is scheduled on July,” the agency adds.
The comeback would be Sunmi’s first comeback with the group since her departure in 2010 to pursue her academic studies and for health reasons.
Rumors of her rejoining the group has surfaced online after Sunye’s uncle Min Won Ki uploaded a photo of him and Sunmi and wrote that Sunmi would be joining the group for their comeback.
When the agency was asked regarding Sunye, and if she would be joining the group for their activities, the agency responded, “Sunye would not be part of the activities.”
Sunye was recently spotted by fans in Korea when her best friend 2AM member Jo Kwon uploaded a photo of them together. Sunye has been living in Canada since her marriage last January of 2014 and have been doing missionary works.
The last song that the group has made was “Like This” which was released in 2012. Soon after, Sohee has left the group to focus on her acting career after her contract with JYP Entertainment has expired, while Sunye got married and had her first child.
Stay tuned for more updates on Wonder Girls upcoming comeback!
