WINNER member Taehyun reveals his thoughts on his solo track “I’m Young” from the group’s new album.

On February 1, the members of the group sat down for an interview with media outlet My Daily following the release of their new mini album “EXIT:E” after a year and a half of hiatus.

When asked regarding the story behind “I’m Young,” Taehyun reveals, “Honestly, I did not want this track to be released as my solo song. It is just a song which I wrote while I was in love. I felt hurt during the breakup and struggled a lot with accepting reality. I poured my true feelings in the song.”

He adds, “It seems that Yang Hyun Suk have heard the song somehow, although it was not my intention, after I sent the demo to a staff member for review. I wrote the song about one or two years ago and have totally forgotten about it. After hearing that it would be included in our new album, I had no idea which song it even was.”

Taehyun also reveals, “I was slightly nervous about my song being included into the album. Sharing such as sincere story with the whole word felt uncomfortable and scary. However, looking back, I would say that including such a heartfelt song was a good decision. I have come to realize the appeal of sincerity.”

Meanwhile, WINNER has recently released their double title tracks “Baby Baby” and “Sentimental.”
