Winner member Song Mino is revealed to be joining Mnet’s rap battle show “Show Me The Money 4” as a contestant.
A representative from Mnet has revealed, “Mino from boy group Winner has applied as a contestant in the show through the standard application process.”
“Mino will be competing on the show just like everyone else. He will also be judged fairly just like the other contestants. We will not prefer one competitor over another just because he is an idol or a famous rapper,” the representative continues.
YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk has also commented, “iKON members Bobby and B.I had participated in the show last year even before their debut, Bobby even won in the competition. Since Mino has already debuted as a singer in Winner, it would be a really difficult challenge for him.”
“I also told him to compete from the bottom as a rapper, not as an artist from YG. He would not be competing as ‘Winner Song Mino,’ but as ‘rapper Song Mino’.”
Mino had debuted in boy group Winner after the group had won as ‘TEAM A’ on YG’s survival reality program “Who is Next: WIN,” The boys from ‘TEAM B’, including Bobby and B.I., will also be making their debut as iKON.
