Tao’s side responds to the press release of SM Entertainment after winning a lawsuit against the former EXO member regarding the return of advance payment.

Through Tao’s official Weibo account, Tao’s side reveals, “SM Entertainment’s statement had parts which did not coincide with the truth. We, as Tao’s workshop are releasing our own statement in order to protect Tao’s honor and debate with what is right or wrong.”

On April 2015, before Tao brought up the topic of contract termination, both sides were in negotiation. Since it was before Tao left SM and EXO, paying back the temporary payment to SM is a voluntary action.

SM stated, ‘Although Tao knew the back account of the company, he failed to pay back the amount in the promise time.’ They stated something which was different from what happened.

He has always followed the ‘sportsmanship of a contract’ and ‘God’s principle of integrity.’ Tao asked for SM’s bank account through a representative. He did not violate the contract or negotiation.

However, SM Entertainment did not give a specific answer and did not give Tao’s representative the account of the entertainment remittance. SM Entertainment’s intention was to draw out time for them to curse Tao with a ‘temporary payment claim’ lawsuit.

SM Entertainment’s statement had exaggerated expressions and expanded the translation of his temporary payment lawsuit. They turned the public opinion into a negative direction by creating an adverse effect towards the cultural exchange between Korea and China.

To block the distorted story that SM has released, Tao’s side has submitted corroborative facts to distinguish the dispute. This workshop would protect the legal interests of Tao against the statements and reports that infringe on Tao’s notion of honor.”
