Son Dam Bi was born on the 25th of September, 1983 and is a South Korean singer, model and actress. She is one of the most active names to debut in the country. She had already appeared in music videos for Paran and MYV and so with many other advertisements. She had first came to popularity when she had make an appearance in a commercial for an MP3 player with Poppin’ Hyun Joon, Before her debut, MSN Japan made a documentary video, showing her pre debut training and rehearsals at it attracted 480, 000 views in 5 days. She was also trained by a well known American choreographer for the preparation of her album, and then people had started to call her as the female version of artist Rain.

Son Dam Bi’s highly anticipated debut single had comes with a total of five tracks that give her a great opportunity to give off both of her vocal and dancing talents. The singer’s debut single “Cry Eye” was then produced and composed by Jang Joon Ho who had previously wrote the “180 degrees” of MC Mong and Jang Woo Hyuk’s Last Game. The lyrics for the song were made by Brian Kim who had also written the Once in A Lifetime song of popular male group Shinhwa.

Son Dam Bi had joined the MBC’s reality show name WE Got Married and she was paired to Marco. She had joined the show in the late 2008 as a part of the second group of couples; their last episode was aired on the 2nd of February, 2009.

It was then also announced that she will be going to join the cast for Hype Nation which is a film that has been labeled to be a “world movie”. However, since the movie was delayed, she had released her mini album with the single “Toyoil Bamae (On Saturday Night”. The song eventually became her very first number one hit song that had topped various online and offline charts which includes the M! Countdown, two wins from the Music Bank and a three consecutive week chart topping on Inkigayo. She had also starred in the SBS’s drama called “Dream” alongside with Ju Jin Mo and Kim Bum who marked her debut as an actress.

After her training in the US after her “Cry Eye”, she had then returned to Korea and released a mini album called, Son Dam Bi Mini Album Vo. 1 with a center on electronic on the 29th of April, 2008. The title track for the mini album is Bad Boy that is produced by Brave Brothers.

She had made a follow-up song in the year 2009 which is called “Toyoilbamae (on a Saturday night) that was a great success for her. She then released her next EP called, “The Queen” but it does not well received unlike her previous ones, as she had faced much criticism from netizens and plagiarism against the title track of the EP which is called as Queen.
