Last January 13, SMTOWN @ Coex Artium in Samsungdong held its grand opening ceremony and on January 14 will be the official opening alongside with the premiere of SM Entertainment‘s hologram musical, ‘School Oz.’ This six levels of its cool building is best for the fans all over the world to go for shopping, hair, and makeup having an experience of a full artist and an additional performance venue . The amenities includes a cafeteria, gift shops for souvenirs, studio, and more! Dream come true for all the fans who are eyeing for their idols’ personal belongings and to see for themselves the SMTOWN.
The event was attended by SM’s chief producers and many of the artists like EXO, f(x)’s Sulli and Luna, Girls’ Generation, and even INFINITE. First who appeared on stage to welcome everyone is non other than Lee Soo Man .
He said, “I wondered how it would be to create an amusement park in the city. That’s why the name is ‘Theme Park in the City.’ I think it might be something we need as a city in the future. This is SM’s city theme park of which I had dreamt for a long time,” and spoke of the goal to share a lot of the cultural contents.
The grand opening ceremony included the performances of Taeyeon‘s “If,” Yuri’s “Gee” dance, animation character Larva and EXO Sehun‘s performance, as well as a digest video of ‘School Oz’ shown via hologram.
