From the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), an album should have a sales of over 250,000 copies to be have a Platinum certification while below that is considered as Gold. It is understood that sales should be over 100,000 copies .
Congratulations to TVXQ for garnering a sales of 244,116 copies from the 8th Japanese studio album ‘WITH‘ topped Oricon‘s Monthly Album Chart for December and to Big Bang‘s ‘THE BEST OF BIGBANG 2006-2014‘ who ranked #1 on Oricon’s Weekly Album Chart and also sold many albums after its release on November 26.
The RIAJ updated their website showing WITH as certified Platinum while ‘THE BEST OF BIGBANG 2006-2014′ was certified “Gold.
