Actress Park Shin Hye apologizes to viewers after being criticized about her nail art in the SBS drama, “Doctors.”
Recently, the actress has been criticized after her nail art was shown in a scene. Some netizens argued that a surgeon should not have long nails, nor have nail polish or nail art, thus making the drama to be less realistic, while some have argued that other real surgeons have nail polish on their nails.
On August 10, Park Shin Hye posts an apology through her Instagram account. She writes, “I would be greeting the viewers of the drama with clean nails on the last four episodes. I would have to remove it if the decision I made to cover up my insecurity became a debated topic in online communities. I would remove it. It isn’t a big deal.”
Later, the actress then edits her post after being criticized for its tone. She writes, “I have removed it since the decision I made to cover up my insecurity has concerned many viewers. I apologize.”
Ultimately, Park Shin Hye deletes her apology after several netizens were displeased with her nail art issue as well as her apology.
Meanwhile, aside from Park Shin Hye, the drama also stars Kim Rae Won, Yoon Kyung Sang, and Lee Sung Kyung. The program airs every Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 pm KST and it has been maintaining its spot as the number one drama in its time slot.
