Lena Park

Park Jung Hyun or mostly known by her stage name, Lena Park was born on the 23rd of March, 2976 in Los Angeles, California. She is a Korean-American R&B singer. Early in her life, she had showed her talent in singing, mostly in the choir of her father’s church in Downey alongside with her siblings Brian and Uriah. She had also learned how to lay saxophone and piano. As of June 2007, she has released a total of 8 Korean albums, 2 Korean singles, 3 Japanese albums and 7 Japanese singles. He is often referred to be the R&B Queen as she is considered to be one of the best female singers in Korea, lining up with singers BoA and Lee Hyori.

She had won several singing contests in the United States before taking a recorded Gospel album in 1993. She then continued her studies while having all the performances. She had attended UCLA for a year before she had began her singing career alongside with her first Korean album, Piece in the year 1998. Her first album had sold more than 500, 000 copies even though she is not that much comfortable in doing promotions on the talk shows. She is not that good in speaking Korean until she had released her first album.

In the year 2002, her song, “Kkum-e (In a Dream)” was a great success and had leaded her to enter foreign market, such as Singapore. The Korean government had also selected her to be the represent in the opening and closing ceremony of the 2002 FIFA World Cup. At the end of the said year, she had released a “best of” album where she done a series of concerts. Live recordings coming from the concerts were saving into her first special live album in CDs and DVD.

She is much proud of her 5th Korean album, On & On, because she had the feelings of getting comfortable and confident in singing and composing in Korean language. It had took her for about a year to make the album and during the time she had become involved in the production and creative work behind the album; she had helped in the song arrangement, she is the one who had plated the piano for some of the tracks and had composed four songs that are all included in the album.

In the year 2007, Lena had performed the opening theme for the Japanese anime TV Series, Romeo X Juliet, the title of the song is Inori~ You Raise Me Up which is her Japanese cover of Rolf Lovland and Brendan Graham’s song you Raise Me Up. The single has also includes a cover of the English version.

For the year 2010m, it was reported that the singer had graduated as the magna cum laude from the New York’s prestigious League School Columbia University with her degree in English and Comparative Literature. This completely shows that she does not only have the voice and the talent, but she also have the brain to be in a higher level.
