Actor Lee Jong Hyuk reveals his thoughts on actors doing variety shows and talks about his sons.
In an interview with media outlet News1Star, the actor reveals, “Back then, I was skeptical of actors participating on variety shows. There were times when I was confused after being on ‘Dad! Where Are We Going.’ However, it was comforting to show an unembellished version of myself while making memories with my sons on the show. My thoughts on actors doing variety shows have changed a lot.”
Lee Jong Hyuk also shares, “Just because you are on a variety show does not mean that you are not an actor. If you ever want to become the number one actor, it may be an obstacle. However, I don’t want to become that type of actor.”
Lee Jong Hyuk says, “I have a ‘my-way’ side of me. I am not following anyone’s footsteps. I am walking on my own path. When you try a different way that no one else has taken, you could be able to find other opportunities.”
The actor also talks about having his sons seeing his performances by saying, “Recently, my sons saw me perform ‘Le Passe Muraille.’ After Junsu saw my kissing scene, he comforted his mother by saying, ‘It’s okay. Don’t stress out.’”
With regards to his other son, Taksu, Lee Jong Hyuk comments, “I think that he dreams of becoming an actor. I want him to enjoy performances at the moment. When the boys watch performances other than in TV, the range of their thinking changes.”
