Jellyfish Entertainment, agency of I.O.I member Kim Sejeong responds to reports of her solo debut.
On June 3, different media outlets have reported that the I.O.I member Kim Sejeong would be making her solo debut in the first week of July while I.O.I promote their unit groups.
Regarding this issue, Jellyfish Entertainment steps up and denied such reports by saying, “There is no truth to the reports of Kim Sejeong doing a solo debut. Currently, she is with I.O.I participating in their performance in Paris. She would continue to work hard under I.O.I until it ends.”
Kim Sejeong ranked second after Jeon Somi in the final line-up of I.O.I through the Mnet survival show “Produce 101.” Although she is a trainee from Jellyfish Entertainment, she is currently managed by YMC Entertainment, who is in charge of handling I.O.I’s promotions.
After their performance in KCON France, I.O.I is set to perform at the 2016 Dream Concert, and it will mark their last performance as a whole group before they go to promote their unit groups. Their performance will also officially end their promotions for “Dream Girls.” I.O.I would then be splitting into unit groups until their official disbandment in January. However, the unit group members have not been confirmed as of yet.
In another news, I.O.I’s Chaeyeon will be rejoining DIA for their upcoming comeback in June.
Stay tuned for more updates on I.O.I!
