During the recent episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” Jay Park and Ugly Duck appeared as special guests to promote their new mini-album “$cene $tealers.”
Ugly Duck shares the story of his stage name by saying, “At first, I just used that name since it sounded cool. However, after people saw my face, they agreed with my choice of name.”
Jay Park then comments, “I did not like people with facial hair. However, thanks to Ugly Duck, I came to like it more.”
He also compliments Ugly Duck by saying, “He is someone who really meaningful music. Ugly Duck makes music which matches him well, and there is authenticity in his music.”
MC Yoo Hee Yeol then asks Jay Park if he ever feels any sort of rivalry with his AOMG labelmates Loco and GRAY. The AOMG CEO then responds, “Not at all. Two years ago, I pulled out all the stops just to get them on ‘Sketchbook’, and a lot of people did not know who they were back then. So, I am really happy that they are doing so well right now.”
Meanwhile, after leaving his former boy group 2PM under JYP Entertainment, Jay Park established his own management label, AOMG in late 2013. He is known for his songs “Joah,” “So Good,” “Know Your Name,” “Girlfriend” and “Abandoned.”
