Comedian Jang Dong Min withdraws from “Comedy Big League” and “A Look At Myself” following controversial skit.

Previously, Jang Dong Min has been involved in a controversial “Comedy Big League” skit regarding children with divorced families. Broadcasting network tvN has then released an official apology regarding the skit following a complaint from the Civic Assocation for Households Without Discrimination (CAHD).

On April 10, Jang Dong Min then apologized about the skit through his official Facebook page and announced his withdrawal from the show.

He writes:

“Hello, this is comedian Jang Dong Min.

First of all, I want to lower my head in apology for those who were hurt because of this.

To take responsibility, I would be withdrawing from the show ‘Comedy Big League’ which I love so much. I hope that this will wash away some of the hurt that many people have had because of this.

I apologize for troubling you again. However, I do want to say something else. I hope that this controversy would not extend to my hoobae Hwang Jae Sung who believed in me and followed me on stage nor the directors and writers at tvN who believed in me and gave me an opportunity.

As a sunbae comedian, and as the protagonist on stage, I want to say once again that I am truly reflecting about my actions which have hurt many people. Once again, I give my sincere apologies.”

Jang Dong Min and his girlfriend Navi would also be leaving their segment on KBS’ “A Look at Myself.”
