Rising band Hyukoh accused of plagiarism on their track “Panda Bear”.

The band has recently gained attention after their appearance on “Infinite Challenge”, and for being the first artist to sign under HIGHGRND which is an entertainment label founded by Epik High’s Tablo.

The band has been accused of plagiarism on their track “Panda Bear”, in which the artist whom they allegedly plagiarized has commented on the issue.

The American indie band Beach Fossils wrote on their Twitter account, implying that the track “Panda Bear” was mix of the group’s song, “Golden Age” as well as Mac Demarco’s “Ode to Viceroy”. Beach Fossils have also mentioned Hyukoh on their tweet and included a link of a video which compares both tracks.

However, the tweet was then deleted after Hyukoh’s vocalist has replied to the tweet.

Hyukoh’s vocalist Oh Hyuk then responds, “I have received this mention. I have conscience and pride on my music. There was not a single moment when I have written a song having bad intentions. It has been my lifelong dream to become a musician, if I had knew that I would get recognized for copying other artist’s songs, I would not have started writing music in the first place. I did not plagiarize.”

The vocalist also added that the band would continue to work hard with their music and asks the fans to watch over them.
