Singer and variety star Gary talks about the intimate photo of him and on-screen partner Song Ji Hyo which sparked dating rumors.
Gary and Song Ji Hyo have been known as the ‘Monday Couple’ on the hit SBS variety show “Running Man”.
On the recent broadcast of “Healing Camp”, Gary responds to questions about the ‘Monday Couple’ being real or not.
On the show, a photo of Gary and Song Ji Hyo getting intimate outside of the filming set was brought up. The said photo has previously sparked dating rumors between the two “Running Man” cast.
Gary then goes to explain, “That was during the ‘Running Man’ dinner after we had attended a year-end awards ceremony. We were just so comfortable which is why we were like that.”
However, the audience seemed unconvinced and skeptical with Gary’s explanation, causing him to burst into laughter.
Then, one audience member asks him if he ever had developed feelings for Song Ji Hyo in the 5 years that they have been on “Running Man” together.
Gary then responds, “Outside of the filming, there has not been one time when we contacted each other regarding personal matters. When you have a loveline for that long, there are some things which you want to learn from the other person that makes you go ‘oh, Ji Hyo has this kind of side to her?’ Then, I tell myself ‘don’t get shaken up, don’t get shaken up’. Because if we would date and broke up, one of us would probably leave the show. I’ve really just been working because of that.”
Another audience member then asks if there was a song in Gary or Leesang’s album about Song Ji Hyo, Gary then responds, “Not on this album, maybe in the next.”
