Joseph Kahn, the director of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video speaks out after being accused of copying 2ne1’s “Come Back Home” music video.
Following Taylor Swift’s conflict with Nicki Minaj over MTV’s Video Music Awards, a fan tweets to Nick Minaj pointing out the similar scenes in Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video to 2ne1’s “Come Back Home” music video.
Along with the tweet, she has also posted a screen capture of similar scenes from both videos.
Both music videos show a futuristic and dystopian setting but have different storylines.
In Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” MV, Taylor becomes a secret agent which was betrayed by Selena Gomez, whom she faces off against at the end of the video.
Meanwhile in 2ne1’s “Come Back Home”, it shows that a story of people who would rather live in a virtual reality than in the real world. Finally, the 2ne1 members then rebels together against virtual reality.
A debate has then sparked online as to whether or not Taylor Swift did plagiarize 2ne1’s music video. Some netizens defended Taylor Swift while some defended 2ne1.
