Crush’s new song “Oasis” which features Block B’s Zico has been accused of plagiarizing Eric Bellinger’s song “Awkward”.

Recently, Kang Il Won, an editor of a hip hop magazine “Rhythmer” wrote on his Twitter account that he sees similarities on Crush’s song “Oasis” and Eric Bellinger’s “Awkward”.

“Thanks to the ‘Show Me the Money 4’ lyrics controversy, it has gone under the radar that Crush’s ‘Oasis’ has copied ‘Awkward’ by an American R&B musician Eric Bellinger, to the point that it is a translated version of the song,” Kang Il Won comments.

“I could not use the term ‘plagiarism’ since there has been no legal ruling made after the lawsuit from the original copyright holder,” he adds.

“Nowadays in the Korean music industry, there are many musicians who are addicted of copying songs which is done under the mask of referencing,” Kang Il Won reveals. He then adds, “There are those who don’t even know that this is wrong.”

Some netizens agreed with Kang Il Won’s opinion saying that it’s BPM (Beats per Minute) and chords are almost the same while some netizens disagreed and said that only the feel at the beginning is the same, but is different at the rest.

Meanwhile, “Oasis” was composed and arranged by Crush himself and the production team Stay Tuned. Zico, who was also featured in the song, was also revealed to have helped in writing the lyrics as well.
