BoA gathers up her courage and performs her song “Atlantis Princess” at her recent solo concert despite the sad memories that it brings.
BoA has recently sung the song on her solo concert “2015 BoA Special Live ‘NOWNESS’ ” last August 23 at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, in which she remembers sad memories behind the track.
The recent concert is BoA’s first concert since January of 2013, since this year marks her 15th debut year as an artist. During the press conference she was asked regarding her performance of her song “Atlantis Princess”.
She reveals, “I have decided to perform ‘Atlantis Princess’ on the concert. There was a difficult time for me when my manager had suddenly passed away back in 2003 during my promotions of this song. Since this song really saddens me, I could not easily decide to bring this song up. However, I decided to add it since I thought that I can now proudly sing this song.”
On July of 2003, BoA’s manager has been involved in a tragic car accident and has passed away. Her manager have stepped outside his car to inspect something which he has hit, however, a truck behind him had swerved to avoid hitting the car, but ended up hitting BoA’s manager instead.
Six days after the accident, after winning on “Inkigayo” with “Atlantis Princess”, BoA had sung the ballad track “Tree” instead as a tribute to her manager. Her promotions for “Atlantis Princess” was then changed to “Tree”, and since then, BoA has rarely performed “Atlantis Princess”.
