During the group’s recent interview, the members talk about their senior group and how they influence them.
Lisa shared, “We are in the same agency as 2NE1 and we get our songs from the same producers. The influence is natural. Since they have done a lot of things before us, we would like to emulate them. At the same time, we hope that there will be a chance for us to show our own unique color. We would like to succeed with our own unique color.”
“Since we are a rookie girl group, we are currently focusing on our group. We are hoping that there will be more opportunities about studying songwriting and lyric writing in the future. If I would have to pick our group’s specialty, I would pick performance. We have learned a lot of dance genres which a lot of girl groups do not really learn. We think that those kinds of things will be a point of differentiation for us when we perform on stage,” she added.
Rosé then shared the group’s goals by saying, “Though we still have a long way to go, we would want BLACKPINK to become a girl group which people could trust to make good music whenever they listen to our music.”
Meanwhile, the group made their debut on August of this year with the album, “Square One,” and with the tracks, “Boombayah” and “Whistle.” They have recently made their comeback with the album, “Square Two,” along with the tracks, “Playing with Fire” and “Stay.”
