Members of YG Entertainment’s new girl group BLACKPINK and YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk shared their thoughts on their much-awaited debut on recent showcase.
Rosé reveals, “Although I am nervous, we would like to show everyone just how hard we worked while we waited for our debut.”
Jennie then says, “I am trembling a lot right now. We will work hard to create BLACKPINK’s own color.”
Jisoo also responds, “Since I have waited for so long for our debut, I am very nervous.”
Lisa then shares, “The fact that we all have trained together and that we are all able to debut together makes me really glad.”
Meanwhile, YG Entertainment’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk then shares his thoughts about BLACKPINK and their senior group, 2NE1. He shares, “We did not try too hard in order to make a difference between 2NE1 and BLACKPINK. It was the same case when we created 2NE1. YG Entertainment has its own unique sound, which is why we focused on making the music sound the most like us.”
With regards to the group’s delayed debut, Yang Hyun Suk reveals, “If you saw BLACKPINK four years before, you could still say that they were already good. However, in the end, team harmony is the most important. I think that right now, BIGBANG has a great team harmony. When we first created BLACKPINK, there were lots of members involved. While some of the members have left, some remained as trainees. As I thought about it a lot, I decided on these specific members.”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK has recently released their music videos for “BOOMBAYAH” and “Whistle” from their debut album “SQUARE ONE.”
