“Show Me the Money 5” winner BewhY opens up about his religious faith and rapping skills in a recent interview.
He reveals, “I am a Protestant. In my opinion, I work hard to be faithful, and I think that I am a religious person. However, I still believe that I am lacking.”
BewhY also says, “My Protestant faith takes up many areas in my life. A lot of my lyrics actually contain material related to my faith. Even the songs which I competed with on ‘Show Me the Money 5,’ such as ‘Day Day’ and ‘Forever’ are songs which I finished after receiving inspiration through prayer.”
He also adds, “I am aware that my religiously influenced music could be mysterious and hard to understand for people who are not religious.”
BewhY also shares that he is confident about his rapping skills and that he does not feel the need to fake humility. With regards to his recent win in the Mnet rap battle show, he reveals, “I had the feeling that I was going to win ‘Show Me the Money 5.’ I firmly believed in myself that I could.”
He also adds, “Even in my point of view, I think that my skill is exceptional. I did not really feel threatened by standing on the stage of ‘Show Me the Money 5.’ Personally, I do not really like unnecessary humility. If I cared about people thinking of me as a prideful person, I would not have been able to make music.”
