Actor Uhm Tae Woong releases a statement after being found guilty of solicitation of prostitution.
Previously, the actor was charged by “A” for alleged sexual assault but was found not guilty. It was then discovered that “A” was a massage parlor employee who partnered with the massage parlor owner, known as “B,” in order to blackmail Uhm Tae Woong.
After the investigations, Uhm Tae Woong was found guilty of solicitation of prostitution and was then fined 1 million won.
In light to this, the actor’s management agency, KeyEast Entertainment revealed, “Today, the investigations have concluded regarding the charges against Uhm Tae Woong. He was respectful in his cooperation with the police and he deeply regrets the disappointment that he has given his family. We will also be relaying Uhm Tae Woong’s personal statement. In the future, we will do our best so that we will only have good news for everyone. Thank you.”
The agency then relayed Uhm Tae Woong’s official statement, which reads, “I sincerely apologize to everyone who supported me and cared for me during these unfortunate events. More than anything else, I apologize to my family, who were hurt the most. Even if it would take a long time, I will do all I can so that the wounds inflicted may heal even a little bit. I will continue to reflect on my mistakes as I live. I apologize.”
It was also previously revealed that Uhm Tae Woong’s wife, Yoon Hye Jin, has suffered a miscarriage shortly after the news of the sexual assault allegations and solicitation charges.
